WAVES
concept
The concept behind this project was to develop a series of 3D abstract stills inspired by natural forms, specifically ocean plant life such as coral, flower petals, and mushrooms. Each piece needed to feel distinct in shape and form while remaining cohesive as a series. This was achieved through a unified colour palette of blues, purples, and greens.
To create the organic quality of the forms, Cinema 4D's cloth simulation was used as a foundation, with varied camera lenses and lighting setups applied to generate a range of unique compositions. All images were derived from a single simulation, a deliberate decision that further reinforces the sense of continuity across the series.
MOTION
Because of the success of the statics - it felt like a natural progression to create some motion using the renders from the simultation that was already created.

the SIMULATION
Here is a preview render of the Cinema 4D cloth simulation that was used. using parts at the beginning for the more uniform and structured forms, whilst using the latter end of the video for the more chaotic fabric like stills.
